Dog Ramp This is a ramp I made for my recently blind Chihuahua, Eevee. Safety violations galore on this ramp That's a much stronger railing. Add some doors for a little storage. Gotta have traction for such a steep incline Puzzle storage Doggies with disabilities approved Thanks Dad! It needed some doors after the cat's continued getting into the food and making huge messes. The opening is an irregular size for standard doors and is nowhere near level. I had to frame the doors while leaving enough room to use the washer/dryer. Fix the walls Very tight The doors are as level as possible given the space constraints. Really tight fit, but it works! The noise of the machines is dampened and the cats can no longer get into the food. Success. Cut a patch for a somewhat close fit & create support behind it. Remember, drywall used for ceilings is typically 5/8 thick, not 1/2 First pass of mud. Tape the joints for added strength. Second pass Spray on a little texture (careful, this stuff gets everywhere) Orange Peel No more hole. Going to paint the whole ceiling after I add some more lights. It was serving this wonderful client well for decades, but over the years the ocean air took it's toll and caused a lot of rot. I got to replace a few of these. This has stood up pretty good for 30 years in the ocean air.
